Emergency Response Environmental Field Laborer

Location: St. Louis, MO
Base pay range: $14.00/hr – $34.00/hr
Driver's license required;
Monday‑through‑Friday schedule, average start time 6 am; average 8‑10+ hour day with overtime after 40 hrs. Must be available for emergency response and occasional project work (evenings & weekends). Possible overnight travel with hotel and per diem. New hires attend a two‑week Academy training out of state, expenses covered and training paid.
- Ensure health and safety is the primary goal by following policies and acting safely.
- Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
- Operate light and heavy equipment, hand tools, and powered industrial tools with vibration.
- Use PPE, including respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in multiple combinations.
- Work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures under all weather conditions.
- Work in atmospheres and locations potentially exposed to hazardous, toxic, or corrosive agents.
- Operate in potential noise, confined spaces, low‑clearance areas, and elevations (ladders and scaffolding).
- Assist in field sampling activities and meter calibration.
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, and enter/exit trucks, tanks, and containers.
- Work extended periods (> 8 hrs) and attend compliance and safety update meetings.
- Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Load and unload hazardous and non‑hazardous waste safely.
- Conduct waste‑stream sampling and profiling as needed.
- Follow local, state (provincial), and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Safely operate vehicles per U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
- Observe corporate operating guidelines and environmental health and safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Be on call on a rotating basis every other week for emergency response.
- Handle site‑remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous material handling.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform physical functions required by key responsibilities.
- Agreed to be on‑call for emergency response, including weekends and holidays; emergencies may extend up to 24 hrs.
- Successfully complete background check, drug test, and physical examination.
- Meet OSHA respiratory protection facial‑hair standards for respirator use.
Previous relevant labor experience.
