Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Overview
Latitude is currently seeking an experienced financial services attorney on an engagement basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated regulatory and compliance matters for financial services clients while maintaining greater flexibility and control over schedule than a traditional permanent role.
Attorneys in this role advise financial services clients on a broad range of regulatory and compliance matters. Representative work may include advising on federal and state laws and regulations applicable to broker-dealers, investment advisers, and wealth management firms; interpreting and applying rules and guidance issued by the SEC, FINRA, and state securities regulators; supporting regulatory examinations, inquiries, and audits; advising on internal policies, procedures, and supervisory controls;
and partnering with compliance, risk, and business teams on day-to-day regulatory questions.
Prior experience at a large law firm, a well-regarded financial services or regulatory boutique, and/or a financial services organization is preferred.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for advising on a broad range of regulatory and compliance matters for financial services clients on an engagement basis. Specific activities include interpreting and applying federal and state regulations, supporting regulatory examinations and inquiries, and collaborating with compliance, risk, and business teams on day-to-day regulatory questions.
Qualifications- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of residence
- At least 5 years of experience advising on financial services regulatory and compliance matters within a law firm or corporate legal department
- Experience supporting broker-dealers, investment advisers, wealth management firms, or other regulated financial services organizations
- Familiarity with SEC, FINRA, and state securities regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, or inquiries preferred
- Ability to independently manage regulatory and compliance matters with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- J.D. from an accredited law school

Pay:
The annualized pay for this position ranges from $170,000 to $250,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

In addition to pay, all Latitude attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage for work or acts or omissions provided within the scope of a Latitude-authorized engagement. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance.
A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
