I’m working with a mid‑sized litigation boutique that is expanding its insurance coverage and bad faith defense practice. The firm is seeking an attorney with 5 years of experience handling complex insurance coverage litigation matters. Kansas City is strongly preferred, though St. Louis candidates will also be considered.
This role is well‑suited for an attorney who is comfortable managing cases independently while collaborating with a team on high‑level litigation strategy. The firm handles sophisticated coverage matters and values strong writing, policy analysis, and courtroom skills.
Experience the Firm Is Seeking- Insurance coverage and bad faith litigation defense experience
- Ability to manage files through all stages of litigation
- Experience drafting pleadings, briefs, and dispositive motions
- Insurance policy review and legal analysis
- Preparing insurance coverage opinions
- Handling written discovery and document productions
- Preparing for and taking/defending depositions
- Court appearances and trial preparation experience
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Missouri license plus Illinois or Kansas
- 5 years of relevant insurance coverage/bad faith defense experience
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently on complex matters
- Sophisticated insurance coverage and bad faith defense work
