BJC is hiring for a Call Center Interpreter. This is a part time role - 24 hours a week.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Interprets for non/limited English-speaking patients and English speaking health care providers in BJH, Children's Hospital and Washington University Medical Center health care environments. Promotes effective care of non-English speaking patients through cultural and linguistic bridging. Performs all or most of the following job duties: answering the telephones; scheduling interpreters for patient appointments; interpreter deployment; triaging of Limited English Proficient patients calling into our call center.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with operations of unit services and integration with other departments.
  • Provides direct interpretation and establishes a communication link between limited English proficient (LEP) patients, families and English speaking healthcare providers.
  • Answers and directs all inquiries from patients, visitors, physicians and staff to appropriate locations using an online database and printed directories.
  • Provides clerical duties, organizes and maintains records.
  • Ensures customers receive exceptional service through consistent performance, answering, directing and paging according to the customers request.
Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
