Lewis Rice LLC, a large St. Louis law firm, is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and mature the firm’s core infrastructure and modern workplace platforms. This role oversees on‑prem and cloud environments, advancing identity, endpoint, security, and data governance capabilities across the Microsoft ecosystem. The position is responsible for reliability, performance, security, and compliance, and will drive a roadmap integrating Entra , Intune, Defender, and Purview.
This is a full‑time, salaried position that typically operates Monday through Friday, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work as needed. We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical coverage, 401(k), and paid parking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Oversee the firm’s end‑to‑end infrastructure ecosystem, including enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, segmentation, firewalls, switching), datacenter environments (compute, storage, VMware, SAN, backup/DR), and modernization initiatives such as Exchange and file share migrations.
- Lead identity and endpoint platforms using Microsoft Entra Intune, including conditional access, MFA, privileged access, unified endpoint management, and device health/risk enforcement across corporate and BYOD devices.
- Manage security operations leveraging Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Cloud Apps, and Office 365, partnering with SOC/MXDR teams to ensure continuous monitoring, incident response, threat containment, and DLP oversight.
- Direct data governance and compliance efforts through Microsoft Purview, implementing classification, labeling, DLP, eDiscovery, and governance policies while supporting DR/BCP testing and resiliency planning.
- Translate technology strategies into multi‑phase roadmaps, manage vendors and MSSP partners, and coordinate with business and application teams on major projects, integrations, and upgrades.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing infrastructure team, establish goals aligned to identity/endpoint/data governance initiatives, and provide clear communication and executive‑level reporting on operational health, risks, and progress.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
- Works under general direction from the Chief Information Officer (CIO), with broad latitude for independent judgment and decision-making.
- Provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for infrastructure team members; may oversee contractors and third‑party partners as required.
- 7–10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or operations.
- 3–5+ years of experience in technical leadership or management roles.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise networking (routing, switching, firewalls, QoS), VMware virtualization, enterprise storage, and backup/DR solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Entra , Intune, Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Cloud Apps, and Office), and Microsoft Purview.
- Demonstrated success in platform modernization projects (e.g., Exchange migrations, file share modernization) and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Strong familiarity with SOC operations and collaboration with MSSP/MXDR providers, including tuning detection and response workflows.
- Experience optimizing Microsoft E3/E5 licensing for security and compliance capabilities preferred.
- Familiarity with Sentinel/XDR integrations preferred.
- Background implementing governance frameworks and conducting DR/BCP exercises in professional services environments preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise networking, datacenter technologies, virtualization platforms, and cloud‑based identity and security frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and identity services.
- Ability to architect and implement scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure solutions.
