Azure Cloud Architect

We have an outstanding Contract position for an Azure Cloud Architect to join a leading Company located in the St. Louis, MO surrounding area.
** US Citizenship is required.**
** Candidate must possess an Active Secret Security Clearance.**

• Design, architect, and govern secure Microsoft Azure cloud environments in compliance with government and enterprise security requirements
• Develop reference architectures, landing zones, and network designs aligned with Zero Trust and defense-in-depth principles
• Lead cloud solution design across compute, networking, storage, identity, and security services in Azure
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure solutions meet RMF, NIST, DISA STIG, and other compliance standards
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to cloud engineers and operations teams
• Support system modernization, cloud migrations, and hybrid cloud integrations
• Participate in architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technical design discussions with stakeholders and customers
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide escalation support
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures

• Active U.S. Security Clearance (Secret or higher)
• Minimum 8 years of IT infrastructure experience, with 4+ years in Azure cloud architecture or engineering roles
• Hands‑on experience designing secure Azure environments in regulated or government settings
• Strong expertise in:
  • Azure IaaS and PaaS services
  • Azure Virtual Networks, Express Route, VPN, NSGs, and firewalls
  • Azure Active Directory / Entra , RBAC, and identity federation
  • Azure security services (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, Policy)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux workloads in Azure
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and leadership

• Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, or equivalent)
• Experience supporting DoD, federal, or classified environments
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures (Azure + on‑prem)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Sec Ops  practices
• Prior experience working in an on‑site, cleared environment
