Technical Writer Intern (Part-Time | ~20 Hours/Week)
Role Summary
Nomad eCommerce is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and curious Technical Writer Intern to help improve and expand our customer-facing documentation. At Nomad, we build sophisticated ecommerce solutions that integrate with multiple ERP systems, and clear, accurate documentation is critical to helping our customers succeed.
In this role, you'll work closely with our Development team to translate complex technical processes into clear, user-friendly guides. You'll help create, update, and maintain documentation that empowers customers to use our platform effectively and reduces friction in their day-to-day operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, organizing information, and learning how software products work. You'll gain practical experience in a live SaaS environment, developing documentation skills while working closely with marketing, development, account management, and support teams.
What You'll Do
- Create and update customer-facing documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and process instructions
- Translate technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand language for non-technical users
- Work with Support and Engineering teams to document product features, workflows, and common troubleshooting steps
- Review existing documentation for accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Help organize and maintain documentation libraries and knowledge bases
- Assist in documenting new features and product updates
- Create instructional You Tube videos to demonstrate product features, workflows, and best practices for customers and internal teams
- Ensure documentation follows consistent formatting, terminology, and style standards
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Comfort learning new software tools and technical concepts
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience with technical writing, documentation, or knowledge-base content
- Familiarity with SaaS products or ecommerce platforms
- Basic understanding of software terminology or workflows
