IT Project Manager, Systems Analyst, IT Consultant

JOB SUMMARY
The IT Project Manager manages the planning, execution, and oversight of information technology projects or programs and ensures that scope, schedule, and resource objectives are met. Works with sponsors and stakeholders from multiple constituencies to establish project goals and objectives, identifies internal and/or vendor resource requirements and acquires appropriate resources, and coordinates the efforts of technical and non-technical team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
Coordinates the integration and communication of project efforts across a variety of departments, monitors and manages project issues, risks and quality throughout the project life cycle.
- The role involves managing tasks and projects; directs and manages all stages of project and programs using standard processes, practices, and tools; develops long term program objectives and strategic technology roadmaps that support business or institutional goals.
- Coordinates with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis; manages stakeholder expectations and involvement by providing information and deliverables to the project.
- Develops project plans and associated communications documents including project charters and schedules; identifies resource and skill requirements needed to meet objectives; works with functional managers to identify and schedule specific resources; accurately tracks and evaluates project performance and changes in scope.
- Actively manages project risk by establishing and maintaining issue logs, risk registers and change logs; works to establish mitigation strategies and contingency plans; develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations; serves as the single-point-of-contact for questions regarding project schedule, scope, resources, or budget.
- Oversees efforts of vendor project managers, including assisting with establishment and review of project teams, performance objectives, plans and status reports, to ensure streamlined startup of engagements and successful execution of project deliverables.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Expert Knowledge of Project Management methodology, tools and techniques, Knowledge of information technologies and applications.
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal and written).
- Ability to effectively negotiate, reach agreements and hold project resources accountable to deliverables.
- Ability to effectively mediate conflicts and navigate disagreements while remaining calm and professional in the process.
- Leadership and general management skills.
- Organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Associate's degree.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience leading projects with cross-functional diverse teams (IT and stakeholders) including vendors (Onsite and remote).
- Bachelor's degree.
- PMP Certification.

Work Schedule ExpectationsThis position will require the individual to work in the office, with the potential to work a hybrid schedule upon completion of six months of on‑site training and familiarization with department work and operations in compliance with the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.
