SAP Background Job Services Consultant

Program Type: Post‑Merger Finance Stabilization (SAP ECC)

Work Model: Onsite / Onshore with 50–100% travel | US Central Time hours

The SAP Background Job Services Consultant will execute stabilization activities related to batch processing, background job orchestration, and system run stability within a multi‑entity, multi‑instance SAP ECC landscape following a merger. The role is accountable for ensuring critical finance, trading, integration, and settlement jobs execute accurately and consistently during mock conversions, cutover, and first consolidated close.

This is a hands‑on execution role focused on run‑cycle integrity and defect resolution under high‑visibility financial timelines.

This is not AMS support and not a greenfield implementation.

• Analyze and validate background job schedules impacted by company code consolidation
• Ensure continuity of critical batch jobs across FI, CO, GTM, SD, MM, and integration processes
• Identify and resolve job failures, performance issues, and scheduling conflicts
• Support coordination of batch job sequencing during mock conversions and cutover weekends
• Validate integration‑related background processes impacting IDocs and data synchronization
• Monitor system runs during cutover and first consolidated close
• Coordinate with ABAP, Integration, and Functional teams to resolve run‑cycle defects
• Document run‑book procedures and stabilization checkpoints for critical financial jobs

• 10–15 years of SAP ECC experience with strong exposure to background job management and batch processing
• Direct participation in at least 2 legal entity consolidations, carve‑ins/outs, or ERP integrations
• Demonstrated experience supporting batch scheduling and job stabilization in multi‑instance SAP landscapes
• Strong understanding of job dependencies across FI, CO, GTM, SD, MM, and integration flows
• Experience troubleshooting IDoc and interface‑related job failures
• Experience supporting mock conversion cycles and cutover execution in live production environments
• Ability to operate in high‑accountability environments with strict financial timelines

• Understands financial close dependency on batch execution integrity
• Quickly isolates job failures and sequencing issues
• Maintains composure under cutover pressure
• Communicates clearly across technical and functional teams
• Protects system run stability during high‑risk execution windows
