EDI Consultant

Program Type: Post-Merger Finance Stabilization (SAP ECC)

Work Model: Onsite / Onshore with 50–100% travel | US Central Time hours

The EDI Consultant will execute stabilization activities for electronic data interchange processes within a multi-entity, multi-instance SAP ECC landscape following a merger. The role is accountable for protecting external transaction integrity, interface stability, and trading partner connectivity during company code consolidation and cutover.

This is a senior, hands-on execution role requiring direct participation in mock conversions, interface validation, and cutover execution to ensure uninterrupted transaction flow with customers, vendors, and logistics partners.

This is not AMS support and not a greenfield implementation.

• Validate EDI message flows supporting sales orders, purchase orders, shipments, invoices, and settlements
• Ensure continuity of inbound and outbound EDI transactions during structural company code transition
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in IDocs, mapping logic, and middleware processing
• Validate integration between SAP ECC, GTM, SD, MM, and external trading partners
• Coordinate with PI/PO or comparable middleware teams to ensure interface stability
• Support reconciliation of transactional data impacted by EDI during mock conversions
• Lead EDI validation checkpoints during conversion cycles and cutover execution
• Support post-cutover stabilization to ensure uninterrupted trading partner communication

• 10–15 years of experience supporting SAP ECC EDI and integration environments
• Direct hands-on participation in 2+ legal entity consolidations, carve-ins/outs, or post-merger ERP integrations
• Demonstrated experience stabilizing EDI processes in multi-instance or multi-template SAP landscapes
• Strong experience with IDocs, message types, partner profiles, and EDI mapping logic
• Experience working with SAP PI/PO or comparable middleware platforms
• Participation in mock conversion cycles and cutover weekends in live production environments
• Experience operating in imperfect data conditions requiring pragmatic resolution

• Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI) supporting EDI or API-based integrations
• Exposure to S/4
  
  HANA integration architecture and cloud-based interface patterns

• Quickly identifies interface failures impacting order processing, shipments, or billing
• Protects transaction continuity across customer and vendor networks
• Communicates effectively with Integration, Commercial, and Operations stakeholders
• Maintains high accountability during conversion and post-cutover stabilization

• Multi-entity stabilization within a multi-instance SAP landscape
