Apex Systems is seeking a Level 2 Systems Engineer to join an infrastructure team at one of our clients, providing services and software solutions to organizations across various industries.

The Infrastructure team supports multiple environments, which comprise various applications and technologies used by the organization. These applications enable business interactions and support quality processes and associated procedures. It is a complex platform that captures, transmits, stores, hosts, retrieves, manipulates, and displays pertinent business information. The Infrastructure team plays a key role in ensuring consistent uptime for Non-Production and Production environments, which strongly influences the development and use of applications for business and technical teams.

Specific work can include, but is not limited to, patching and upgrading infrastructure, maintaining and updating certificates, database changes, enhancing existing systems, providing restorative services, and supporting daily operations.

• Participate in large-scale upgrade efforts such as operating system and hardware upgrades.
• Help plan and implement new technologies, including migrating applications to the cloud.
• Review and address security vulnerabilities at the server and backend level.
• Support backend processes such as build and deployment systems and code repositories.
• Monitor and address issues within the general health of the system, including CPU, memory, I/O, and space management.
• Collaborate with other platform and infrastructure teams, including Unix, Linux, Windows, Performance Management, and Dev Tools.
• Manage recurring processes such as password maintenance and updating security certificates.
• Maintain hardware, including setting up new servers and environments and decommissioning old ones.
• Assist with implementing automation tasks within Solution Support and throughout the department.

• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• 3+ years of AWS, AWS Cloud Formation, and AWS Cloud Watch.
• 1+ years of experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• 1+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Groovy, JavaScript, Shell, or similar.
• 1+ years of experience working with Terraform in cloud environments.
• Experience with Jenkins and Git.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.

• Experience with:

• Azure

• PostgreSQL

• Web Logic

• Spring Boot

• Dynatrace

• Splunk/Splunk Power User

• Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket

• Practical application knowledge of Unix.
