About the Company
Care Vet is a veterinary practice management group that acquires and manages best‑class hospitals across the United States. We focus on delivering high standards of care and building a network of top hospitals, doctors, and staff.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of IT will lead the internal IT team and collaborate with external vendors to deliver high‑quality support to our 200+ locations. The role includes developing strategy, guiding the team, managing budgets, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Specific Responsibilities- Identify short‑ and long‑term IT needs and develop strategies to support the company’s computing and communications requirements.
- Define the strategic direction of the IT department and collaborate with the executive team to execute this strategy in support of business and financial goals.
- Advance IT services through continuous improvement, including upgrading and consolidating legacy systems, cloud migrations, and AI integration across platforms.
- Lead and mentor a team of direct reports, providing the highest level of support to hospitals.
- Serve as the lead administrator for organizational software tools and communication platforms.
- Work directly with the Legal team to develop IT policies and governance.
- Collaborate with department leads to align IT budget with organizational financial goals and assist with forecasting.
- Hands‑on work with software and hardware vendor platforms, adapting technical skills to meet hospital needs.
- Serve as the primary contact for all IT invoicing.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT Management, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience managing an IT department, with foundational experience as a systems administrator.
- Extensive experience in Microsoft O365 multi‑tenant environments, including Entra integrations and conditional access security configurations.
- Microsoft or CompTIA certifications preferred.
- Zendesk administrative experience preferred.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Creative thinker and proactive problem‑solver.
