Job Overview

This position works 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with some weekends and evenings required during times of business need. Travel within the Greater St. Louis area will also be involved up to 25% of the time. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

You will develop and execute broad‑based recruitment strategies to identify and attract volunteers, provide coaching and guidance related to recruitment activities, and support volunteer development and leadership. All duties will be performed in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize comprehensive recruitment strategies to meet assigned volunteer recruitment metrics and ensure placement of sufficient volunteers to meet operational needs.
  • Leverage recruitment venues, in‑person presentations, social media campaigns, user groups, and professional associations to identify and attract qualified candidates; identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key volunteer recruitment agencies and population segments.
  • Evaluate and modify recruitment strategies based on lessons learned, and support the ongoing refinement of the Volunteer Recruitment Plan.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to volunteer recruitment teams (paid and volunteers) and foster a culture of volunteerism that supports recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop or strengthen recruitment materials and create presentations for online and in‑person recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all potential and actual volunteer leads through appropriate tools; produce status reports as directed.
  • Support volunteer programs and services to meet established goals and objectives; assist in scheduling and coordinating volunteer orientations, placements, meetings, and events.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education:

      Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Experience:

      Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
    • Management

      Experience:

      N/A
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Community development experience.
    • Skills in selling the program.
    • Active community presence and relationship building.
    • Experience leading volunteers.
