Overview
The Benefits and Leave of Absence Senior Coordinator plays a key role in delivering a best-in-class benefits experience for Forvis Mazars team members. This role supports the firm’s benefits programs in full compliance with firm policies and all applicable regulations.
The Senior Coordinator is responsible for making sound administrative decisions based on a strong understanding of benefits regulations and practices, while knowing when to escalate issues. Areas of administration include medical, dental, and vision plans; short- and long-term disability; life and AD&D insurance; voluntary benefits; FSA programs; transportation benefits; wellness programs; and health savings accounts.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining employee benefit data within the HRIS and administering COBRA, Workers’ Compensation, ACA compliance, and leave programs, including FMLA. The role proactively identifies and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency.
The Senior Coordinator collaborates closely with HRIS, Payroll, HR Business Partners, and the Total Rewards team to ensure alignment, consistency, and high-quality service delivery.
What You Will Do- Explain and interpret Health & Welfare plans, COBRA, Workers' Compensation, ADA, and FMLA, responding to employee questions as needed.
- Support the firm's Bonding Leave program by educating employees, ensuring adherence to requirements, and coordinating with the vendor to ensure timely and compliant benefit delivery.
- Respond to employee inquiries accurately and promptly through the myHR help desk.
- Partner with vendors, brokers, and providers to ensure smooth benefit plan administration and resolve employee issues.
- Participate in the annual Open Enrollment process, including updates and changes to the HRIS system.
- Ensure accurate communication of benefit plans and eligibility to employees.
- Ensure accurate transmission of benefit data to vendors (file feeds).
- Investigate and resolve claims and enrollment issues.
- Participate in meetings and webinars to support employee understanding of the firm's benefit plans.
- Associate's Degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools
- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in benefits administration, including applicable state and federal regulations and current market best practices.
- SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional), PHR (Professional in Human Resources), or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist)
- Experience using Workday for HR and benefits processes.
