Reports to:

Housekeeping Manager. General purpose:
Clean and prepare guest rooms and public areas to meet established standards of cleanliness, ensuring guest satisfaction. Requires working weekends and holidays.

• Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms; set up cleaning cart with supplies; keep carts and storerooms clean and organized.
• Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways.
• Use ladders or stools occasionally to clean hard‑to‑reach areas.
• Wash shower walls, tubs, toilets, mirrors, sinks, and other fixtures.
• Replace towels, soaps, and all room amenities; restock literature.
• Wash all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings; use a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners.
• Strip bed of all linen and remake with fresh linen; check bedspread, blankets, and bed pads for cleanliness; lift mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under bed.
• Check closet for cleanliness; wipe closet door, handle, overhead shelves; restock guest room supplies such as hangers, extra blankets, and pillows.
• Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways; operate vacuums weighing up to 25 lb; lift and move heavy furniture to vacuum entire carpeted area, including underneath furniture and hard‑to‑reach areas.
• Inspect all door and window locks for proper operation; alert management to unsafe situations.
• Inspect all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, docking stations) for proper working order; report deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper for repair.
• Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies to protect hotel property.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or requested by management.
• Clean patio/balcony areas by sweeping or hosing floors, wiping down furniture and fixtures, picking up garbage, and cleaning doors and windows.
• Assist other employees and departments to contribute to overall performance of the department and hotel.

• Must work flexible hours (nights, weekends).
• Responsible, dependable, punctual.
• Able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions; communicate verbally and in writing.
• Clean and professional appearance.
• Must pass a background check.

• Maneuver fully loaded maid cart (up to 50 lb) through hallways and into closets during the entire workday.
• Push, pull, bend, kneel constantly throughout the day.
• Bend down and get on/off floor numerous times per day.

• High School Diploma / GED.

• Experience a plus, but not required.
