Environmental Service Tech; Non-Exempt

Overview

Find your calling at Mercy! Maintains the appearance and sanitation of all areas of Mercy Hospital including, but not limited to patient rooms, diagnostic testing rooms, waiting areas, staff areas, examination rooms, and operating rooms in accordance with infection control regulations. Disposes of trash, recyclables, and medical waste according to policies and procedures. Regularly wears personal protective equipment (PPE). Uses cleaning products, including bleach, as approved for hospital use.

Operates a pager and computers to receive and send communication about patient rooms. Hangs cubicle curtains as needed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles and Mercy Service Standards. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Position Details

Must be able to read and understand basic instructions. The physical demands described here are representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job.

Preferred

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
