BJC Health Care System is hiring a Full-Time Psychology Intake Liaison for St. Louis Children’s Hospital (1 Children’s Pl, Saint Louis, MO 63110).
- Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Monday to Friday
In addition to managing incoming calls, scheduling patients with providers, and completing necessary medical office tasks, this position acts as the liaison between the psychology department and patients, potential patients, and referring providers. The Intake Liaison is responsible for ensuring seamless patient scheduling and verification of patient insurance coverage for anticipated psychological services. This role requires flexibility to perform duties from any department location as needed.
Responsibilities- Manage up-to-date understanding of insurance benefits related to psychological services, including CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, authorizations, single case agreements, copay/coinsurance.
- Adhere to system and department policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient workflow optimizing the electronic medical record system used.
- Perform medical office responsibilities and tasks.
- Schedule patients with appropriate department providers based on referrals received through the electronic medical record system or fax; determine appointment date/time, send/obtain new patient paperwork, verify insurance benefits and obtain authorization, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary clinics.
- Manage department phone line and triage incoming calls; respond to medical record requests and obtain notarizations when necessary.
