Position

The Supervisor, Family Support is responsible for driving donation authorization through supporting and directing the work of the Family Support Coordinators (FSCs) to meet donor family and other key stakeholder expectations, to ensure organ and tissue donation is maximized to achieve the mission, vision and values of Mid-America Transplant (MT). This Supervisor will contribute to departmental success through day‑to‑day coaching, support, and oversight of family support activity while identifying opportunities for improvement in current practices.

What

You’ll Do
  • Drive organ and tissue donation authorization through personal actions, coaching, and development of the Family Support Coordinators.
  • Provide day‑to‑day supervision for assigned staff, partner with immediate leaders in the selection, training, and development of team members to retain a motivated, engaged, and professional workforce.
  • Oversee scheduling, review and approval of time sheets and expense reports, assign and monitor work, gather resources, implement productivity standards, resolve operational problems, and implement new processes.
  • Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to assure mutual understanding of expectations and desired results.
  • Respond on site to obtain, support, and/or maintain authorization for donation.
  • Communicate process changes and ensure staff have up‑to‑date skills and knowledge to clarify and exceed organizational requirements.
  • Actively participate in the development of department, work system and organization‑wide meetings to build relationships with team members.
  • Identify process gaps and assist with the development of action plans to ensure commitment to continuous quality improvement.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, crisis management, grief management, healthcare management or related field.
  • Active member of a team with experience in case management, family counseling, social services, and/or organ procurement organization.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, influence techniques, and problem resolution techniques.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external contacts, agile in adjusting communication style to the situation.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout Mid-America Transplant service areas on a 24‑hour basis.
  • Ability to respond on site within 90 minutes of deployment.
