Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital on a Medical Surgical unit,

• Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts per week, from 18:45 to 07:15,

• Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5,

• Patient population includes medicine, colorectal surgery, urology, plastic surgery, orthopedic recon (hip and knee replacement/revision), bariatric surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic spine surgery,

• Required to float between Medical Surgical units within the hospital as needed,

• Every other weekend work is required,

• EMR system used is Epic and experience is required,

Job Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required,

• Minimum 1.5 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Experience with Epic charting system required,

• Must submit two supervisory references from within the last two years,

• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility,

• Pending license is accepted for submission when applying for Missouri positions,

Additional Information

• Nurses provide care for a diverse surgical and medical patient population,

• Navy blue scrubs are required,

• Free parking is provided in designated employee parking areas,

• Must be able to pass fit testing for PPE compliance,

• Return staff must have a break of at least one year before returning as a traveler,

• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, with no time off approved during the first week,

• Assignments for standard travelers can last up to 18 months with a required 3-month break afterward,
