We are looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and passionate about helping others achieve their recovery goals. Your role will involve sharing your recovery story, providing validation, and fostering hope in a supportive environment. In this position, you will engage with clients through both face-to-face and telephone interactions, conducting assessments and providing essential support. Your ability to build trusting relationships will be key in promoting recovery and enhancing community living for those you serve.
Key Responsibilities- Engage clients in collaborative and caring relationships, utilizing interpersonal skills and knowledge about recovery.
- Provide support through validation of experiences and feelings, exploring community roles, and celebrating client accomplishments.
- Promote coping skills for managing addictions and mental health symptoms while encouraging the use of natural supports.
- Deliver a person-centered treatment approach, personalizing recovery goals to align with clients' hopes and preferences.
- Create a trauma-informed environment that emphasizes safety and empowers clients.
- Conduct face-to-face and telephone contacts with consumers from various crisis programs, establishing effective relationships.
- Attend scheduled meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.
- Complete all documentation requirements by stated deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services or designee.
- Review and follow the ACI Four Core Competencies.
- Current certification as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) in the State of Missouri. If you don t currently have Peer Specialist credentials to meet this job requirement, you can submit an application to the state here: CPS Credential Application – Missouri Credentialing Board
- Must self-identify as a present or former client of mental health or substance use services OR self identify as a person in recovery from mental health or substance use disorder.
- Prefer prior professional experience working with clients in crisis.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
