Position Summary
:
Works either remotely or in an area with no patient contact and performs advanced secretarial duties, typing medical dictation requiring substantial use of medical terminology and maintaining physician’s schedules.
Scheduled Hours
: 40 hours per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical documents such as physician’s letters, correspondence, nurse’s notes and manuscripts; complete requisitions/orders in the electronic medical record as per Washington University guidelines.
- Maintain physician’s daily appointment schedule and calendar, schedule meetings and conference calls, reserve catering services, arrange travel and complete travel expense reports.
- Schedule appointments and procedures for patients.
- Prepare patient charts, including delivering workups.
- Greets visitors, answers telephone, takes messages, screens patient inquiries, providing information according to departmental procedures and policies.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians and staff, providing routine information to patient inquiries.
- Assist administrative/clinical staff during peak times, vacations or illnesses.
- Assist with retrieval and delivery of reports, films, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
:
High school diploma or equivalent or combination of education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
:
Associate degree.
No specific certification/professional license required.

Salary Range$19.29 - $29.91 per Hour.
