Overview
Find your calling at Mercy! The Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS) assists physicians, advanced practitioners and registered nurses with monitoring and follow-up of patients with CIEDs (cardiac implantable electronic device). The CDS is proficient in CIED programming and monitoring. Will be responsible for managing patients' diagnostics in manufacturer remote monitoring websites, analysis and management of transmission, entering data into Paceart and Epic, maintaining the integrity with the system and having the judgement to direct to EP physicians when appropriate.
Must meet or exceed quality, safety and value measurements under the direction of the physicians, advanced practitioners and registered nurses. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Shift Schedule / HoursFull Time, Days; 8:30a-4p. No call, weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities- Assist physicians, advanced practitioners and registered nurses with monitoring and follow-up of patients with CIEDs (cardiac implantable electronic device).
- Program and monitor CIEDs; manage patients diagnostics in manufacturer remote monitoring websites; analyze and manage transmission.
- Enter data into Paceart and Epic; maintain data integrity and exercise clinical judgment to direct to EP physicians when appropriate.
- Adhere to quality, safety and value measurements under physician, practitioner and nurse direction.
- Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission, values and Service Standards.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science preferred but not required. RN, LVN, CMA, paramedic and/or device industry background will be considered. - Licensure:
None. - Experience:
EKG knowledge required with understanding of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias preferred. Proficient in CIED remote and programming or ability to demonstrate proficiency within six months of hire. Knowledge of medical terminology specific to electrophysiology preferred. - Certification/Registration: CCDS through HRS within 24 months of hire preferred.
- Other skills & knowledge:
Excellent clinical communication skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
