Preferred Qualifications

The Centralized Scheduling Representative is often the first point of contact for our patients and therefore must represent BJC with the highest standard of customer service, compassion and perform all duties in a manner consistent with our mission, vision, values, and BJC service standards.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and respond to a variety of situations, anticipating patients’ needs and being able to respond to them.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and scheduled services, communicating in a professional, positive, and patient‑focused manner with all patients, families, provider offices, and‑workers by phone.
  • Pre‑register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and schedule tests according to orders in a fast‑paced environment while ensuring integrity of the clinical and financial record.
  • Understand and enforce hospital compliance with Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) and HIPAA Privacy Standards, applying independent thinking to solve complex issues.
  • Work safely in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner as a safety‑sensitive position.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • < 2 years experience
Preferred Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree
  • Participant in CHAA certification
