Medical Assistant II

Medical Assistant II at CareSTL Health.

Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Sites.

• Prepare patients for examination and assist provider with exam and procedures.
• Conduct patient intake and discharge according to policy.
• Collect all forms, verify demographics, take age‑appropriate vital signs.
• Obtain and process specimens for transport to the lab.
• Assist provider with complex dressing changes, perform simple wound care, administer injections, nebulizer treatments, and peak flow tests.
• Clean and decontaminate reusable equipment for autoclave sterilization and set up exam rooms.

• Assist with medical emergencies as instructed (e.g., CPR, First Aid).
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistant.
• Current CPR Certification.

Experience:

• 1‑2 years of experience working in a Community Health Center or Physician Office setting (preferred).

• Clinic hours Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• 11 paid holidays per year.
