Clinical Pharmacist Specialist - Onc/Amb
Location:
St. Louis, MO
Base pay range: $/yr – $/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Role SummaryWe are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Outpatient Oncology Pharmacy Specialist to join our team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure safe and effective use of oncology therapy.
- Collaborate with nurses, oncologists, midlevel providers and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
- Manage drug‑drug interactions.
- Develop treatment plans.
- Support patients with education on their medications and chemotherapy treatment plans.
- Assess the overall status of the patient’s health condition and evaluate medication profile for optimal patient outcomes. Monitor therapy and goals of care. Document all activities and communication as appropriate.
- Participate in professional development and research activities.
- Contribute to performance improvement, clinical effectiveness, drug use evaluation, and HSO/BJC committee activities.
- Participate in the education and training of pharmacy staff, residents and students, and serve as a role model and mentor.
- Participate in the identification and implementation of targeted drug cost reduction programs.
- Strong background in oncology pharmacy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Passion for improving patient outcomes.
- PGY1 Residency required. (PGY2 in Oncology/Ambulatory Experience preferred).
- Work schedule:
Monday–Friday days.
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.
D.). - Active State License (Medication Therapy Services in MO, RPh).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in oncology or ambulatory pharmacy.
