Lab Associate III - Lab Processing

BJC’s Phlebotomy Laboratory team delivers precise and reliable results that impact patient outcomes positively. Hours are 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday with no weekends or holidays. Lab processing duties emphasize pre‑analytic, analytic and post‑analytic responsibilities.

• Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, including sweat chloride collections and EKGs.
• Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.
• Sorts and processes routine and specific high level specimens, including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send‑out tests.
• Coordinates simultaneous tasks accurately, prioritizing STAT orders and workload fluctuations to complete within scheduled hours and turnaround times.
• Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading and related duties.

• Education – High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Experience – 2–5 years in a laboratory setting. No supervisor experience required.
• Licenses & Certifications – Basic Life Support (BLS) and Phlebotomy certification.
• Preferred Requirements – Associate’s Degree, additional laboratory experience.
