BJC Health Care System is hiring a Full-Time Histo Tech (Non-Reg) at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) - Surgical Pathology Dept
$5,000 Automatic Sign On Bonus Eligible!!!
Position Details:
- Day Shift
Hours:
(Mon-Fri) flex schedule at 8 or 10 hour shifts, starting at 7am - No weekends & Holidays!!!
- Responsibilities include embedding, microtomy, processor and stainer maintenance, and other ancillary duties as required.
- Non-Reg with at least 3 years of Histo (embedding/microtomy) experience will be considered
- HT - ASCP or ASCP - HTL
- Embedding, microtomy and IHC experience (preferred)
- Histology Technician, Histologist, HISTOTECHNICIAN, Histotechnician, Histo Technician, Histology Technician, histotechnician, Histotehnologist, Histotech, Histotechnologist, certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), histotechnology
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Responsible for providing a variety of basic routine tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination.
Responsibilities
- Tasks limited to microtomy, embedding, staining. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
- Understands maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas. Has minimal understanding of test principles.
