Senior Scientist – Pediatrics Hematology & Oncology
Position Summary: The Magee lab studies mechanisms that regulate childhood blood development and genetic changes that cause leukemia in children. Our projects focus on gene regulation during stem cell development and differentiation. Using mice models of pediatric malignancies, we aim to develop new treatments for children with leukemia and other blood disorders.

Hours:
40 hours per week.
- Collaborate on designing, conducting, and reporting research projects.
- Assist with grant preparation and reporting; may submit grant proposals with approval of PI, Department Head, and Dean.
- Prepare and submit papers on research findings.
- Develop testable hypotheses and methods for validation.
- Comply with safety procedures and maintain documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Manage research projects with other institutions and investigators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological, chemical, and radioactive hazards.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
Required Qualifications: PhD or terminal degree in biological sciences or related field, or a combination of education and experience that meets the minimum education requirement.
Certifications/Professional Licenses: No specific certification or professional license required.
Work Experience: Postdoctoral training (minimum 3 years).
Preferred Qualifications- Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biological sciences or related fields with relevant postdoctoral experience, including molecular biology, flow cytometry, cell culture, and ideally management of pluripotent cell culture lines.

$63,400.00 – $ per annum
