Overview

Position Summary

The Division of Reproductive Medicine is hiring a PRN Ultrasound Sonographer to help us build families. This individual will assist with IVF monitoring visits and embryo transfers. There is an opportunity to participate in research and to work alongside experts in the field of IVF using advanced technology. The position performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Performs ultrasound examinations per scanning protocols, documents patient history with the examination, and presents the study to the physician for review while adhering to patient schedules.
  • Assists physicians with procedures, provides sonographic guidance, obtains necessary supplies and equipment, and monitors patient needs while supporting physicians and patients.
  • Teaches ultrasound procedures and techniques to visitors in the department (residents, students, fellows, and new sonographers) and supports professional growth through educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and conferences.
  • Maintains documentation including patient files, performs data entry, and completes paperwork needed for procedures/processes.
  • Develops film through automatic processing and monitors darkroom supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Performs phlebotomy and injections when required.
  • Assists with maintaining Supplies and equipment and provides front desk support when needed.

Education and Qualifications
  • Education: Required — Associate degree or a combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Certifications/Professional Licenses: The list may include all acceptable certifications, professional licenses and issuers. More than one credential may be required depending on the role. Examples include Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, BLS - American Red Cross, RDCS/RDMS/RMSKS - ARDMS.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.

Salary

Salary Range: $35.99 - $55.79 / Hour

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
