Generalist Medical Laboratory Technologist MLT; Non-Reg - Nights

BJC Health Care System is hiring a Full-Time Generalist Medical Laboratory Technologist MLT (non-reg) for Core Lab located at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC Laboratory) in St. Louis, MO.

• Full-Time (non-remote) 36 hours per week – benefit eligible
• Night Shift 6:30pm – 7am in 3–12 hour shifts
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: weekend rotation every 3rd weekend; holiday rotation includes one to two holidays per year
• Core Lab Position (Blood Bank, Chemistry, UA, Hematology/Coagulation, Processing, Microbiology setups and send outs)
• Generalist Role
• LIS and Systems:
  Cerner Millennium, Epic, Instrument Manager, Sysmex WAM (hematology middleware), Cellavision (hematology application), Biorad Unity (Chemistry QC), and Wellsky (Blood Bank System)
• Equipment:
  Sysmex in Hematology, Roche in Chemistry, and Ortho-Visions in Blood Bank
• Customer Service, Sendouts

• Lab experience (preferred)

• Associate’s Degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field

Role Purpose

Performs specimen processing and routine testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Demonstrates good laboratory practices.

• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
• Reports results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
