Base pay range: $29.91/hr - $38.47/hr pay based on skills and experience.

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. The Perioperative Services staff provide excellent Surgical Care by partnering with an extraordinary team of physicians and health care professionals, offering the comforts of a small community hospital combined with the resources of the world-renowned BJC Health Care System and Washington University Medical School.

Accredited Surgical Program, Surgical Technician certification.

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
