Job Summary

As an International Tax Senior in our International Tax Practice, you will be responsible for managing complex tax compliance and consulting projects for multinational clients, including the preparation and review of U.S. international tax filings and the development of strategic tax planning solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base operating across various jurisdictions and industries, while deepening your expertise in cross‑border taxation.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining client relationships, supervising internal staff, and collaborating closely with firm leadership to deliver accurate, timely, and high‑quality service to our international clients.

Job Description Tax Preparation
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of international tax engagements, including the preparation and review of U.S. international tax filings (e.g., Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 1118, 8991, 8992)
  • Oversee the preparation of foreign tax credit calculations, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F income, and related disclosures
  • Coordinate with clients and global affiliates to gather and evaluate international financial data for accurate U.S. reporting
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international tax regulations while identifying opportunities for tax efficiency
Research and Analysis
  • Conduct in‑depth research on international tax issues, treaties, and regulatory changes to provide planning strategies and risk mitigation
  • Support the development and implementation of global tax strategies that minimize liabilities and support client growth
Client Communication
  • Effectively communicate complex tax concepts and strategies to clients, tailoring explanations to their understanding and addressing their questions or concerns
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on tax‑related matters, providing insights into their financial situations and potential tax implications
Compliance and Documentation
  • Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and adherence to internal quality control standards
  • Monitor and manage tax filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance requirements to avoid penalties and ensure timely submissions
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and changes, ensuring the firm and its clients are compliant with the latest tax requirements
Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with other tax professionals within the firm to share insights, knowledge, and best practices
  • Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to foster their professional growth and ensure the quality of their work
  • Cultivate a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and effective communication among team members
  • Participate in internal training sessions to enhance your technical skills and stay updated on industry trends
Process Improvement and Innovation
  • Identify opportunities to enhance tax workflows, processes, and methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm’s tax services
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May supervise subordinate team members
Work Environment
  • Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
Travel Required
  • Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs
  • Limited travel may be requested for attending events, conferences, or internal meetings
Required Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3 – 6 years of relevant experience
  • Software: CCH Prosystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS, Checkpoint for Tax Research
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Experience in professional service environment, such as a CPA firm, financial consulting firm, or similar setting
  • Actively working towards achieving CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure or relevant certification, if not already attained
  • Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement
