As a Mortgage Servicing Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting accurate financial reporting and strong accounting control execution across complex business processes. This role supports the timely and accurate recording, reconciliation, and analysis of financial activity, partnering closely with operational teams, Finance, Technology, and Risk. You will help ensure balances are well‑supported, controls are effective, and financial results clearly reflect underlying business activity.
In this role, you will gain exposure to end-to-end accounting flows, reconciliations, controls, and reporting within a highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and post accounting entries related to assigned general ledger and subledger accounts
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve differences in a timely manner
- Analyze financial activity and trends, helping connect operational activity to financial results
- Collaborate with operational and reconciliation teams to support accurate and complete financial reporting
- Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting, including management, regulatory, and control‑related deliverables
- Contribute to the design, execution, and documentation of accounting controls in support of SOX and internal control requirements
- Maintain clear documentation and support internal and external audits, inquiries, and reviews
- Partner with Finance, Technology, and Risk to resolve accounting questions, improve processes, and enhance data quality
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Four or more years of experience in financial accounting activities
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulations
- Advanced knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Familiarity with SOX controls and audit support
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
