Interim CFO

Highspring is excited to partner with a reputable Private Equity client who is searching for an Interim Chief Financial Officer for their thriving $50M+ manufacturing business. This dynamic position involves hands‑on engagement in the finance and accounting functions, with a primary focus on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

• Collaborate closely with the CEO and private equity sponsors to provide accurate financial insights and ensure operational excellence.
• Manage all finance and accounting operations, including month‑end closing processes, cash management, and compliance.
• Lead FP&A initiatives by developing comprehensive forecasts, budgets, and scenario models to aid strategic decision‑making.
• Create KPI dashboards and financial models utilizing advanced Excel skills for enhanced visibility.
• Prepare board materials and investor reports while supporting strategic projects such as cost optimization and working capital management.
• Mentor and cultivate a collaborative culture within lean finance teams.

• Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in private equity‑backed mid‑market manufacturing firms (Food Manufacturing preferred), ideally with revenues between $50M and $200M.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, with CPA credentials being a plus, and a solid understanding of GAAP compliance.
• Exceptional hands‑on Excel skills for modeling, reporting, and analysis.
• Possess a calm, level‑headed demeanor with the capability to lead through periods of change and uncertainty.
• Experience with the implementation of tools such as Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense systems is advantageous.

This role is based in St. Louis, but the CEO welcomes an interim CFO who can travel as necessary for the 3-5 month engagement, particularly at the beginning to establish trust and rapport with the team.
