Overview
The Finance Associate supports investment analysis, financial modeling, tax compliance, portfolio monitoring, and reporting activities across fund‑ and asset‑level entities. This role collaborates closely with internal teams and external tax partners to drive financial accuracy, tax compliance, and data‑backed investment decision‑making. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a genuine interest in commercial real estate, investments, and taxation.
Location: St. Louis, MO
Responsibilities- Support investment analysis and financial modeling for acquisitions, recapitalizations, development, and financing scenarios.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external tax partners to ensure financial accuracy and tax compliance.
- Monitor and report on portfolio performance across fund‑ and asset‑level entities.
- Prepare projections, sensitivities, and investment performance forecasts.
- Conduct tax research and support tax compliance activities.
- Build, maintain, and audit complex financial models.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP compliance and internal controls.
- Proficiency in waterfall models, investment analysis, and underwriting.
- Ability to work with Excel pivot tables and MS Office Suite.
- Experience in preparing financial projections and performance forecasts.
- Familiarity with tax returns, K‑1s, 1099s, partnership structures, depreciation rules, and real‑estate tax incentives.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP compliance.
- 1–4 years of experience in financial analysis, tax, public accounting, or real estate finance.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and strong MS Office capabilities.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental tax concepts.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Previous exposure to commercial real estate, investment analysis, or private equity is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly detailed, organized, and able to balance multiple deadlines.
The work environment is collaborative, fast‑paced, and deadline‑oriented, involving interaction with investment, asset management, tax, accounting, and property management teams. The role offers exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, financing, investor relations, and strategic decision‑making, with a blend of independent analytical work and team‑based project execution.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00/yr.
