Construction Controller – St. Louis, MO

We are seeking a Construction Controller to lead financial operations across both corporate and project-level accounting. This role will be instrumental in supporting strategic growth initiatives, managing audits, and ensuring financial compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hands‑on accounting experience, leadership skills, and construction industry knowledge.

• Lead financial operations across corporate and project-level accounting.
• Support strategic growth initiatives and manage audits.
• Ensure financial compliance and prepare documentation for audit readiness twice annually.
• Oversee accounting personnel with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle financial compliance, including quarterly reporting tied to loan agreements.
• Manage payroll, ERP systems, and multi‑state tax preparation.
• Engage in budgeting and forecasting on the project side (30–40%) and month‑end reporting on the corporate side (60–70%).

• Expertise in construction accounting.
• Proficiency in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Leadership development skills.
• Experience in compliance and internal control.
• Knowledge of Viewpoint and audit preparation.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a controller role within construction.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
• Proficiency in Excel data entry.

Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $48.07 – $57.69 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
