About the Role

The Pricing/Financial Analyst is a key role within the Pricing and Financial Analysis department, which is responsible for providing a wide range of financial analytical support to the organization. As a member of the Pricing team, the Pricing/Financial Analyst will assist in providing valuable analytical support to Sales and other teams to make informed business decisions and help maintain the day to day duties of maintaining the SAP, Pricefx, and pricing systems with accurate data.

The Pricing/Financial Analyst will also assist in providing a variety of reports and analysis for Executive Management. On a frequent basis, the Pricing/Financial Analyst will interact with a wide variety of departments including Sales, Marketing, Project Management, Customer Service, Cost Accounting, Sourcing and Accounts Receivable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Price quoting process using the Pricing System and Pricefx.
  • As necessary, prepare, analyze, and publish accurate margin analyses for Sales, Marketing and Executive Management.
  • Follow up on Pricing quotes with Sales Team to determine outcome (won, lost, etc.)
  • Prepare price comparison analyses including pricing of similar products, previous prices, prices of lost business, etc.
  • Provide pricing and product costing support on customer bids.
  • Work with Project Management team on cost development of potential new items to provide insights into price setting.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting for special requests.
  • Assisting on market price initiatives based upon commodity fluctuations.
  • As requested, incorporate major cost breakdown into margin analyses. At times, building dynamic cost functionality for cost modeling for major raw material fluctuations.
  • Manage and maintain pricing and customer factor changes in SAP. Publish and distribute on a periodic basis to Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Management.
  • Assume the role of Functional Power User and "go‑to" person for Pricing when Manager is not available.
  • Monitor, communicate, and resolve price discrepancies working with Sales, Customer Service and Accounts Receivable.
  • Developing, documenting, and analyzing product costs using bills of materials.
  • Provide analytical support for various departments as requested:
    Sales, Marketing, Project Management, Operations, Customer Service, Cost Accounting, Sourcing and Accounts Receivable.
  • Assist with providing weekly and monthly reporting on all price changes.
  • Other ad‑hoc tasks which could include preparing month‑end closing reports, and assisting with forecasting and budgeting.
Qualifications

B.S. degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related.

Required Skills
  • 2–5 years’ experience in Pricing, Cost Accounting, or Financial Analysis.
  • SAP experience preferred; relevant experience in manufacturing accounting environment experience a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • Good overall system skills required. Previous SAP experience and Pricing system experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excel:
    Superior Excel skills required including working knowledge of pivot tables, advanced formulas, and VBA to be able to create useful financial analyses. Previous experience with creating and manipulating large amounts of data.
  • Strong analytical abilities and research skills.
  • Must have an understanding of cost accounting (product costing).
  • Self‑starter and team oriented.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey quantitative results at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to fluctuating deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with various other departments within the company.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/projects.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate effectively in responding to questions/ challenges by other team members.
Pay range and compensation package

Limited travel.
