Operational Risk Manager

Organization: Bruin Financial — AVP, Risk Management, North America (role based in St. Louis)

Location: St. Louis, MO (office-based; relocation required if not within commuting distance)

• Assess, recommend, develop, and maintain the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) in line with the Firm's ERM framework.
• Lead the execution and enhancement of the RCSA program, transitioning to a business process-level approach, integrating KRIs, OREs, and new GRC technology.
• Shape the strategic direction of the RCSA framework, including risk ranking, RCSA refreshes, and continuous improvement through stakeholder feedback.
• Build and lead a growing team, foster strong business partnerships, and drive engagement through thought leadership, workshops, and tailored process implementation.
• Prepare executive-level reporting for senior management and the board.

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in Operational Risk management or a related role.
• Strong and broad knowledge of core Operational Risk Management components and processes, including Risk and Control Self-Assessments, Operational Risk Event reporting and mitigation, Key Risk Indicators, Scenario Analysis, etc.
• Significant Financial Services experience, preferably in a broking/capital markets environment.
• Previous management experience (leading a small team).
• Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, or related field (preferred).
• Experience partnering with 1st line business units.
• Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRAC) software and knowledge of how ORM processes are incorporated into GRAC tools, and continuously managed through the tools.
• Team player who collaborates with other teams and business units.
• 5 days per week in the office.
