SA Recycling, a world leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is actively seeking career-focused applicants for a Scale Operator role. Our Scale Operators provide key services that directly affect the overall success of our operations by developing and growing positive customer relations and managing all aspects of inbound and outbound truck-scale operations. This position will work inside and outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

• Responsible for the exact weighing of all trucks entering and leaving the recycling yard while providing efficient, courteous customer service to our suppliers and company drivers.
• Complete all required documentation for trucks and loads entering or leaving the yard; keep up-to-date logs; sort and process weigh tickets for end-of-day processing.
• Participate in the testing of scales for accuracy and report any malfunctions or concerns to the General Manager.
• Process payments and keep exact records of all transactions.
• Help suppliers with questions on pricing and types of materials accepted and maintain account contacts to promote continued business.
• Cross-train and back up other office personnel as needed.
• Punctual and regular attendance is a key requirement for this position.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail to prevent data entry errors, or to catch and correct them.
• Ability to develop and strengthen positive working relationships with suppliers and co-workers.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work in a challenging environment, good organizational and mathematical skills, basic negotiation skills, and the ability to multi-task.
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry-specific software.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
