Position Summary

A Telecom Designer/Engineer designs advanced telecommunication system schematics to support projects throughout our six market sectors; prepares design documents and performs engineering calculations in coordination with project teams and multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting in developing overall telecommunication system schematics to support projects in our Venue Sector
  • Assisting in the development of overall technology system design, layouts, details, rack elevations and schematics under the direction of a senior designer/engineer
  • Preparing drawings of system layout, details, rack elevations and signal flow diagrams
  • Proactively seeks opportunities for continuous learning and understanding of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Producing low voltage system drawings and specifications suitable for bidding by qualified contractors
  • Performing necessary calculations and being involved in job site visits, construction observations and/or attending client meetings
  • Working with architects, clients, contractors and project managers to create a successful outcome
  • Managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
Telecom Designer/Engineer

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) and 1 year of relevant experience OR 4 years of experience with a high‑school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
  • Additional certifications and accreditations aligned with the relevant technical field (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD, etc.) preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in engineering design: basic knowledge of the A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards. Knowledge may be applicable to a limited range of practice, project or program types.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
  • High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels in a clear and concise manner.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Team oriented and willingness and ability to function in a highly collaborative environment, in group projects and leading less experienced designers.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
