Sound like a familia you're ready to join? Here's the details on what we are looking for in this position:

We are seeking a Senior Physical Substation Engineer with deep experience in high-voltage substation design (69kV–345kV). This is a senior-level, execution-driven role intended for someone who can step in and start delivering immediately. You’ll be expected to take ownership of design packages, guide project execution, and support the development of junior engineers.

This position is on-site and requires close collaboration with engineers, drafters, and project leads. Remote or hybrid options are not available at this time.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Lead the physical layout and design of high-voltage substations, including general arrangements, equipment plans, grounding, conduit routing, and cable schedules
• Prepare and review markups using Bluebeam Revu, working closely with drafters to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards
• Own design deliverables from concept to IFC, ensuring quality, compliance, and constructability
• Collaborate across internal teams (P&C, Drafting, Project Management) to align efforts and meet deadlines
• Serve as a technical resource to troubleshoot issues, perform QA/QC, and support junior team members
• Engage with utility clients to clarify scope, resolve design issues, and build lasting relationships
• Assist in project scoping, estimating, and proposal development when needed
• Up to 25% travel required
• Complete other duties as assigned, including a willingness to temporarily fill-in for other roles/duties as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
• PE license preferred, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire
• Minimum 8 years of experience in substation physical design, including full design ownership and direct client interface
• Proficient with Bluebeam Revu for markups and collaboration
• Strong knowledge of NESC, IEEE, NEC, and utility standards
• Demonstrated ability to manage design scope independently and deliver accurate, constructible packages on time
