Local Geomatics Lead/Project Manager – Join WSP in the U.S. to lead surveying and geospatial solutions across Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy, and other sectors in the Midwest Region. This position plays an important role in managing project delivery, supporting business development, and mentoring staff while ensuring technical quality and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities People and Culture- Provide guidance and mentorship to office and field staff under senior management direction.
- Support team development through training and knowledge sharing.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, and technical excellence.
- Maintain strong client relationships and represent WSP professionally.
- Assist in developing proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects; manage billing and account receivables for assigned projects.
- Support business development efforts and identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage geomatics projects including boundary and topographic surveys, LiDAR mapping, UAS operations, and GIS.
- Oversee production of plans and deliverables; perform QA/QC reviews.
- Leverage a variety of software and data processing systems to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, standards, regulations, and QA/QC procedures.
- Coordinate field crews and office staff to meet project schedules and budgets.
- Maintain project tracking systems and manage survey equipment.
- Collaborate with internal departments and subconsultants to meet project needs.
- Support recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in land surveying or an associated field.
- 7‑10+ years of experience in land surveying and geospatial services.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Missouri and/or Kansas, with ability to be licensed in both states within 6 months.
- Proven leadership, team‑building, and communication skills.
- Experience managing schedules, budgets, staff, and equipment.
- Proficiency with CAD and survey data processing software.
- Strong knowledge of land survey principles, practices, and methods.
- Ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.
- Willingness to learn and teach others.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; detail oriented, organized, and responsive.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure or on high liability projects.
- Track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Master’s Degree is a plus.
- Multiple PLS licenses in neighboring states is highly preferred.
- FAA Part 107, CP/CMS, GISP, or PMP certifications.
- Advanced knowledge or training in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation Open Roads Designer, Leica Infinity or Trimble Business Center, Esri ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience performing geomatics work in both field and office, especially in Missouri/Kansas with public agencies and private organizations.
- Experience preparing estimates and proposals, participating in business development, and managing billing and account receivables for projects under own name.
- Existing client base.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $95,000 – $169,290. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may offer additional benefits and compensation, depending on circumstances and the type of work being performed, not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
