Position Summary

The Design Integration Manager (Electrical) collaborates closely with project development, operations, estimating, and project support teams throughout the pursuit, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and close‑out phases of projects. The role leads the design process for electrical scopes on design‑build, engineer‑procure‑construct, construction manager at‑risk, and other alternative delivery projects, ensuring design maximizes client value while adhering to scope, budget, and schedule.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
  • Organize and manage the activities of the project team during the design phase to develop the design of significant building and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with the team to define scope and sequence of design delivery, including early release packages.
  • Establish accountability culture and communicate project expectations regarding document development and construction budget with designers.
  • Implement project‑specific information management systems and communication protocols throughout the design phase.
  • Drive design schedules through leading or participating in scheduled design team and OAC (owner/architect/contractor) meetings.
  • Manage change‑management logs, tracking cost and schedule impact.
  • Coordinate review cycles, manage risk related to scope creep, gaps, constructability issues, and drive value engineering activities.
  • Maintain a detailed RFP compliance matrix to validate design meets owner requirements.
  • Provide program validation to ensure building systems and owner‑provided process equipment have proper structural and MEP support.
  • Collaborate with estimating to review cost trend logs and adjust designs to keep projects within budget.
  • Assist estimating and operations teams with screening trade partners, suppliers, and reviewing construction bids.
  • Collaborate with the VDC team to develop and execute project‑specific BIM implementation plans.
  • Support operations/construction during construction and close‑out by managing design team through changes and issue resolution.
  • Assist the Director, Design Integration with development of tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Serve as SME for a discipline, performing peer reviews and constructability reviews.
  • Support project development teams during pre‑proposal and pursuit phases, including capture strategy and client presentations.
  • For DB and EPC projects, solicit and evaluate proposals from primary and specialty design consultants and negotiate design contracts.
Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related technical field plus ten (10) years of experience in electrical design, including five years in enclosure systems and a project‑management role, or equivalent combination. Prior experience on design‑build projects. Licensure as a professional engineer (P.E.) preferred. Certification as a LEED AP or a DBIA certified professional is a plus.
