As the Prefabrication Designer, you will play a key role in advancing Arch Key’s prefabrication operations by developing detailed, code‑compliant, and constructible design solutions that translate project intent into efficient prefabrication deliverables. The role supports both standard and advanced prefabrication applications, including wall rough, lighting control systems, conduit support systems, equipment assemblies, and electrical room build‑outs. You will collaborate closely with project teams, field leadership, VDC, and prefabrication production teams to ensure all prefabrication documentation improves field efficiency, standardization, and quality.
Responsibilities- Prefabrication Design & Detailing:
- Develop detailed prefabrication build sheets, layout drawings, riser diagrams, and assembly diagrams for wall rough, lighting control systems, and standard prefabrication packages.
- Review construction drawings for NEC compliance, constructability, and alignment with prefabrication standards.
- Use Bluebeam and Excel to create, revise, and annotate prefabrication documentation; familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
- Prepare material take‑offs and support procurement coordination for all prefabrication assemblies.
- Maintain organized documentation, version control, and approval tracking for all design deliverables.

- Ensure all prefabrication designs meet company standards, NEC requirements, and field constructability expectations.
- Lighting Controls Detailing:
- Develop prefabrication build sheets, riser diagrams, and layouts for lighting control systems, including occupancy sensors, dimming systems, relay panels, and smart lighting devices.
- Translate design intent from project documents into detailed, constructible prefabrication packages for lighting controls.
- Coordinate with Procurement to verify material selections, substitutions, and lead times for lighting control components.
- Ensure all lighting control documentation complies with NEC and project specifications.
- Collaborate with other designers to ensure lighting control systems integrate seamlessly with related assemblies such as wall rough and power distribution.
- Collaboration, Quality, and Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with VDC to incorporate redlines, as‑built updates, and digital coordination models into prefabrication packages.
- Gather and document field feedback and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in prefabrication design quality and constructability.
- Partner with Quality Coordinators and Lead Designers to align advanced prefabrication packages with company standards.
- Contribute to the development and standardization of prefabrication assemblies and catalog items for reuse across projects and regions.
