Collaborating closely with project development, operations, estimating, and project support teams, the Design Integration Manager oversees the design process across all phases—pursuit, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and close‑out—of design‑build, engineer‑procure‑construct, construction manager at‑risk, and other delivery projects, ensuring that design maximizes client value while adhering to scope, budget, and schedule.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties- Organize and manage the activities of the project team during the design phase to conceptualize and develop the design of significant building and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with the project team to define scope and sequence of design delivery, including composition and timing of early release packages.
- Establish a culture of accountability within the design team and communicate project expectations with designers, including document development level and construction budget.
- Set up project‑specific information management systems and communication protocols throughout the design phase.
- Lead or participate in regularly scheduled design team and OAC (owner/architect/contractor) meetings to drive design schedules.
- Manage change‑management logs throughout the design phase, tracking cost and schedule impact.
- Coordinate review cycles among the project team, manage scope creep and gaps, and drive value‑engineering activities.
- Maintain a detailed RFP compliance matrix to validate that the design meets owner requirements.
- Provide program validation to ensure building systems and owner‑provided process equipment have proper structural and/or MEP support.
- Collaborate with the estimating team to establish and periodically review cost trend logs throughout design; lead designers to adjust designs to stay within budget.
- Assist estimating and operations teams with screening trade partners and suppliers and reviewing construction bids.
- Collaborate with the VDC team to execute a project‑specific BIM implementation plan.
- Support operations and construction during construction and close‑out by managing design changes and issue resolution.
- Assist the Director of Design Integration in developing design integration tools, templates, and best practices.
