HDR is seeking a Utility Coordination and Design Business Class Director. The role focuses on the technical delivery of our products and services, positioning HDR as a preferred service provider in this area. The director will serve as the technical leader for the Business Class, responsible for quality assurance, resource availability and development, and project delivery.
Responsibilities- Monthly coordination calls with Business Class leadership and/or Section managers, addressing key items.
- Support the ongoing development of the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class.
- Identify upcoming projects and pursuits needing support្ប from National Business Class leadership.
- Review upcoming workload and availability of business class staff.
- Review utilization reports to identify staffing needs (hiring or workshare), working with Regional Leadership/Section managers to meet utilization goals.
- Identify participants and, when appropriate, participate in Project Approach and Resource (PARR) reviews and evaluations.
- Perform project reviews or audits to validate quality practices; review technical and performance issues, and help develop remedial action.
- Serve as the focal point for the Transportation Business Group to deliver Utility Coordination and Design services in collaboration with other Business Groups or Classes throughout HDR.
The director will also identify technical leaders within the business class for key projects, programs, and initiatives; participate in the hiring process; promote staff interaction and technical development; manage workshare and project assignments; and provide direct project support on selected assignments.
This role requires limited travel to support select national projects and delivery.
Required Qualifications- ikes>
- Bachelor’s degree in a professional, architecture, engineering, or closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the related field.
- Professional or engineering registration and related technical experience.
- Experience in the development and management of diverse teams.
- Cooperative work experience with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
- Commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
- Active participant of HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
Location non‑specific; preferred location with a significant HDR presence.
Average travel requirement: 15 % (15–25 % monthly variations).
