IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We currently have an open position for a Senior Acoustics or Senior Audiovisual (AV) Designer in one of our key offices. As a Senior Designer, you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead design for delivery of projects varying in complexity with minimal support required from senior staff.
You will be responsible for working closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of acoustics or audiovisual systems in buildings. This position will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget, train, mentor, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for the analysis and development of projects across various market sectors
- Communicate technical concepts clearly across many different audiences using narratives, diagrams, and engaging presentations
- Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
- Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives. Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended
- Coordinate design requirements within a multidisciplinary design team including executing calculations according to code requirements and industry standards, development of specification clauses, and other innovative ways of developing acoustic/audiovisual recommendations and integrated project solutions
- Provide in‑process design reviews of design deliverables. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that design strategies meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies/products, and best practices. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
- Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
- Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase, including visiting project sites for inspections, measurements, commissioning, and testing
- Contribute to overall team success through process improvement, setting standards, contributing to resourcing, and building morale
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Proficiency of fundamentals of acoustics, fundamentals of vibration, engineering acoustics, noise control, digital signal processing, electroacoustics, human responses to acoustics and vibration (acoustics focused)
