RESPONSIBILITIES- Strategic – Looks for ways to improve engineering design and design processes in a particular discipline; guides the development of Revit tools to improve productivity.
- Project Management and Technical Improvement – 10% time devoted to initiatives; includes manpower estimates, communications, budget monitoring, deliverables, and standards for delivery; develops typical details, specifications, and drawing standards; keeps abreast of industry changes and recommends changes; improves analytic processes and documentation; fosters client service.
- Engineering Projects – 90% time devoted to engineering large or complex projects; responsible for project engineering from concept to commissioning; provides design inputs and reviews; attends client meetings; participates as a team member and leads on issues; performs site surveys and visits during construction; reviews projects at all stages; delivers projects on budget; mentors engineering staff.
- Business Development – Provides support to Business Development; writes key aspects of projects; presents at industry events; prepares fee estimates and assumptions for a particular discipline on potential projects.
- Performance Measurements – Efficiency and profitability of the Engineering Discipline; quality of design solutions (integration, sustainability, peer recognition); quality of work (completeness, change orders, client satisfaction); cohesiveness of the discipline team; client repeat business; contributions to new work.
- B.S. in engineering; M.S. preferred.
- Licensed SE if Structural Engineer, or PE/CE/PE in other states; NCEES record for any state.
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
- Expert in all aspects of the discipline; track record of recent successful major projects over $100 m, including one over $250 m.
- 10 years project engineering experience, from concept to opening, with completed high‑profile projects.
- Experience in leading or working in integrated teams.
- Experience in design and delivery of LEED Gold or Platinum projects.
- Experience with architecturally significant buildings.
- Experience with commercial, corporate, institutional, civic, justice, aviation, and healthcare sectors.
- Seismic engineering experience, including through construction.
- Creative problem‑solving for complex problems.
- Expert in current sustainable technologies applicable to the discipline.
- Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with analysis programs – SAP, ETABS, SAFE, GSA, or similar.
- Engineering of steel and concrete superstructures, including long span or high rise.
Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education, and location. The reasonably expected range for this position in Denver, Colorado is $125,000 to $165,000. Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
