SCI Engineering, Inc. is a professional consulting and engineering firm offering a variety of services from the design development stage through construction. We specialize in Geotechnical, Environmental, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources and Construction Testing services.

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for learning, and appreciation for excellent client service, desire to lead by example and the drive to come up with innovative solutions to geotechnical challenges. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

General Characteristics

  • Acquires limited knowledge and develops skills in a specific practice area.
  • Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment.
  • Exercises limited judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional work.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Performs basic design tasks.
  • Assists on other basics such as: preparation of permit applications or reports, material testing, drawings.
  • Performs research and investigations.
  • Collects data and gathers information or documents.
  • Performs standard computations or analysis.
  • Prepares drawings and visual aids.
  • Observes construction/field activities.
  • Meets profitability/chargeability goals.

Communication Skills

  • Possesses good oral and written communications skills.
  • Interacts with other staff.
  • Limited interaction with general public, officials and contractors.
Qualifications
  • BS degree, Geotechnical Engineering
  • MS degree, Geotechnical Engineering (preferred).
  • Passed FE Exam
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and communications skills are essential.
  • Must be personable and able to communicate with clients and staff at all levels.
  • This position requires critical thinking and analysis; frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending; working in all weather conditions; and driving to and from project sites.
