RF Optimization Engineer (SME) – St Louis, MO (Onsite)
We are seeking an experienced RF Optimization Engineer to join our team in St Louis, MO. This role requires onsite presence and focuses on advanced 5G and LTE optimization for a leading telecommunications company.
Job Responsibilities- 5G Optimization covering Sub6, DSS, mmWave, VONR, NSA, and SA.
- Multi‑Layer Cluster Optimization including 5G/LTE/UMTS.
- Independently perform RF performance activities in customer projects, following project plans and guidance from the project manager.
- Analyze KPIs, investigate, and improve network quality issues.
- Implement new features and tune 5G/4G (LTE) radio network parameters.
- Manage network performance functions such as trending, analysis, monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Review daily KPI reports, identify sites with performance degradation, and propose solutions.
- Utilize tools like Net Act OSS, Web Element Manager, CM Editor, SON, etc., for deep dive counter‑based analysis.
- Understand Radio Resource Management functionalities, including handover control, admission controls, and capacity management.
- Run trace analyses and use drive‑testing equipment such as JDSU/RAN Advisor, Nemo, TEMS, X‑CAL, Windcatcher, and Falcon Smart.
- Manage alarms, performance suites, and parameter configurations via Net Act OSS.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in RF Optimization for LTE/VoLTE/5G.
- Minimum of 2 years of 5G experience.
- Experience with T‑Mobile tools such as One Data, Truecall, Actix One, Atoll, Asset, IMNOS, and RFDS.
- Hands‑on knowledge of TDD and FDD parameters.
- RF Optimization Layer 3 analysis using tools similar to ACTIX.
- Expertise in troubleshooting tasks (e.g., resetting eNB/gNB/RRH, changing parameters, running XLM plans, alarms, RSSI issues).
- Monitoring site alarms and conducting health checks to resolve issues.
- MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience also acceptable.
- Strong teamwork, discipline, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
